I bought new two new brushes for my multipro 395 dremel, the brushes directions that can be used for my dremel and the brushes should be identical. But the new brushes springs are copper colored and the old ones are a silver color. Are the same anyway?

Yeah. And if you've overheated your Dremel to the point where it quits running, the brushes may be melted in place. Disassemble the two halves of the case, and push against the brushes from the inside, using the armature. After they pop free, you'll probably find that your switch has melted as well. Return the whole thing to Dremel, and if they can't fix it cheaply, they'll give you a good deal on an upgrade to a newer model. Cheers!

How strongly are the brush springs attached to the carbon brushes? My brushes do not look very worn, they measure .2445" (carbon block only). However, one side the spring and the brush make contact but are not held together by anything other than the spring tension. Is this a problem?

I still have approx 1.5 cans on the brushes but it has stopped working, do they need changing?
