    • You've probably already got the bin out in order to have noticed that the hinge is broken. If, however, someone has simply presented the device for repair, remove the bin by pinching the blue catch on the back edge of the RoboVac and pulling the bin out from the RoboVac's body.

    • The dust bin is a simple clam-shell type case. Open it over the waste-bin to ensure that it has been properly emptied.

    • Tip: When working on any cleaning device, wear a mask and, if possible, wash the item to avoid allergies and other issues.

    • Lay the open bin on the work surface. Be careful not to twist the two halves of the shell as you open it as you may have one hinge pin still in place.

    • The photo shows a bin in two separate halves. My RoboVac had chosen to throw itself down the stairs, losing the one remaining pin (marked in red) and dislodging the previous repaired hinge (which can be seen in the image - circled in Blue.) Amazingly no other damage occurred, these are robust devices.

    • You will need a single Bamboo kitchen skewer 3mm in diameter. These are easily found (in the UK, at least) at your local supermarket if you don't have some left over from your last marshmallow toasting.

  3. Eufy RoboVac G30 Dust bin hinge Replacement, cut the replacement hinge rod to length: étape 3, image 1 de 2 Eufy RoboVac G30 Dust bin hinge Replacement, cut the replacement hinge rod to length: étape 3, image 2 de 2
    • You are going to need a 15mm length cut from the straight shaft of the skewer. If you Robovac model differs slightly from the G30, you can double check the measurement by measuring across the two halves of the hinge when the clam shell is closed.

    • A sharp knife, such as a Stanley knife, will be perfect for cutting the skewer. Make sure that you cut on a suitable surface such as a kitchen chopping board, and be careful that the cut end doesn't "ping" off into space.

    • Note: You can, of course, use a hacksaw or rotary tool with a cutoff wheel, but in fact, the knife has the advantage of slightly crimping the cut end, making it easier to insert.

    • Now we need only press the new rod into place. You may find that this is easier to do with the clam-shell closed as the two parts of the hinge will naturally align.

    • Tip: if the skewer is a little tight, crimp one end a little to give it a slight "nose" or chamfer to ease it in. The tiniest drop of oil can be applied to the hinge beforehand, too, but in my experience, pushing it home with a firm prod does the trick and ensures it remains secure.

Conclusion

Insert the repaired bin into your RoboVac and relax while it cleans up again.
