      • Mine had become loose. I could hear a rattle when shaking the kettle.

      • Mine stuck to its place quite snuggly with a gentle push.

      • Consider adding glue or tape if you're afraid of the sensor becoming loose again.

I followed the link to purchase and received a 4mm bit Triangle 2 which is too small for the screws and too small for my bit holder! How can I return?

Hey supernovadancer,

This is a Community-Contributed Guide. I'm not iFixit staff. You might want to refer to iFixit Store's terms: Terms of Service

I think I fixed my kettle with the 2mm triangle, which is indeed a bit small. However, I tested now again with the 3mm triangle, which seems to fit better. I updated the guide accordingly.

I used the 3mm triangle bit and that seemed like the right size. However, when I opened my kettle, the sensor wasn't loose, so I wasn't able to fix the issue for myself. However, randomly my kettle stopped boiling over a few days later - which is strange, cuz it was boiling over about 10+ times in a row. This is actually my second Fellow kettle, and the first one I got rid of after probably 5 years due to this same issue. Hope it doesn't come back for me, but it's frustrating cuz it seems like a longstanding problem which seems to be a design flaw (this kettle is only 2 years old).
