HP TouchSmart 15-r015dx Battery Replacement

Introduction

The HP TouchSmart 15-r015dx has a 3-cell lithium-ion polymer battery that fits nicely on the bottom of the laptop. The battery has easy-release switches in order to remove and reinstall batteries.

    • Turn off your laptop.

    • Ensure your laptop is off. Removing the battery while it is on may harm your laptop or yourself.

    • Flip over to view the bottom of the laptop in order to gain access the battery and the DVD±RW Drive.

    • There are two battery release switches circled.

    • slide release switches inward towards each other to release battery.

    • after sliding the release switches, pull battery towards yourself to remove battery.

I did all the steps but the laptop didn't turn on at all. I then unhooked the power, removed the new replacement battery, and plugged the power back in it turned on without the battery but it won't turn on with the new battery in it. What am I doing wrong? Thx for you time.
