How to Manually Reset the Touch Screen (Soft Reset)

Introduction

Under certain circumstances, the ventilator touch screen may not respond to user interaction as expected. If the display is not responding to touch input, the following steps should be taken to resolve this issue. Depending on the patient's status, they may need to be transferred to another ventilator before performing the display reset steps. Further information regarding the reset of the touch screen can be found on the Puritan Bennett 980 support page in the video titled “Unresponsive or Blank GUI Reset”.

    • Press the display lock key just below the screen to lock the display.

    • Pressing the display lock button a second time, a progress bar will appear below the lock icon on the display.

    • When the progress bar has completed, the lock icon will unlock indicating that the touch screen has been reset.
