Begin by removing the wheel by removing the old nut with a skate tool.
Remember that you have a stripped axle, so you may need extra force to remove the nut.

Clean off any excess dirt or metal particles with a dry towel.
Your towel should be dry. Cleaning the axle with a wet towel may cause the axle to rust.

Insert the axle thread tool into the 1/2" socket on the skate tool.
With the thread tool in the socket, insert the axle into the tool and turn your skate tool clockwise throughout the entire axle. Once you feel you have reached the end of the axle, unscrew the tool.

Inspect your threads for their quality. You should now have even threads with deep grooves. If they appear uneven, you may need to go back and repeat step 4.
Place your wheel back on the axle.

Discard the old wheel nut and replace it with a new one. Tighten the new nut onto the wheel.
Ensure that your new wheel nut is seated correctly on the threads.
Be careful not to overtighten the new nut to prevent stripping the axle again.
