  5. Now that you have detached the keypad, gather the cotton swabs and rubbing alcohol.

    • Dampen a cotton swab by placing 1 to 3 drops of rubbing alcohol on the tip.

    • Be careful not to completely soak the the cotton swab with the rubbing alcohol.

    • DO NOT pour the rubbing alcohol directly onto the keypad. Too much liquid exposure can permanently damage it.

  6. Use the moistened cotton swab and rub it around each button, in crevices, and anywhere on the keypad that may have dirt. Replace the swab as often as desired.

    • Keep the rubbing alcohol away from the calculator's visual display. Water exposure to the screen can permanently damage the screen.
