Introduction

Comme vous pouvez le voir sur les photos, j'ai pris un MagSafe cassé et inutilisable. Après avoir ressouder, le LED montre que l'ordinateur est en charge.

Il s'agit d'une extrémité hyperlaxe d'un « Magsafe ». Il ne fonctionne plus car le fil s'est éloigné.

Utilisez une pince coupante pour couper le fil du Magsafe à une certaine distance de l'extrémité magnétique. J'ai coupé environ 10 cm en arrière. Vous pouvez vous approcher beaucoup plus près, quelque chose comme trois centimètres, comme vous le verrez à l'étape suivante.

J'ai utilisé un cutter pour découper la belle couverture blanche du minuscule circuit imprimé. Il y a un cache en plastique moulé semblable à de la colle chaude que j'ai dû retiré du circuit imprimé.

1.) Prenez la bonne extrémité du fil et dénudez-la.
2.) Le fil intérieur, qui est recouvert de blanc, doit être soudé sur une plaque métallique carrée d'environ un huitième de pouce carré. Cette plaque est en face d'une petite puce (pour référence).
3.) Le fil tressé recouvre le fil intérieur blanc, et est enroulé autour de celui-ci dans deux directions différentes. Ce fil doit être décollé et ensuite torsadé ensemble.
4.) Puis soudez-le en place, en face de la puce et de l'autre fil.

Branchez-le dans une prise murale et installez-le sur un ordinateur pour le tester.
À ce stade, il reste des fils sous tension exposés qui transportent une tension continue. Pour éliminer le risque de choc ou de court-circuit, recouvrez les fils nus de ruban électrique, de gaine thermorétractable ou de Sugru.

Pour réassembler votre appareil, suivez les instructions dans l'ordre inverse.

Awesome! I had not used my macbook for almost a month, since my magsafe quit working. I was afraid to cut into the plug, fearing I might damage the circuitry inside. Once I saw the pictures of the inside of the adapter, I knew the correct way to do it. Thank you for the tutorial. :)

I repaired my magsafe end and managed to back the white cover off and re-use it. I couldn't re-use the strain relief, but built up a facsimile using hot glue.

How would this be done for the new Magsafe 2 connection? This is aluminum, and not plastic....help would be appreciated!

Having bought a second one of these useless cables, I blue-tacked the connection in place and secured the cable along the side of the computer. Not pretty but at €90 a replacement, well worth it. You can also mould a pretty cover with Sugru.

Thanks. That gave me the courage to have a crack at it. Fixed it ok! Fortunately it was not necessary to open the intestines because only the (earth? neutral... well it was wire at least) around the core was worn out so I wacked a slither of copper across the 'break" and soldered it together. One thing bothers me though: Why do north Americans say 'sodder" rather than "solder"?

got no ibook, is for a friend:

could someone with a working one check the voltages at the contacts: i only read around 3 volts..! is it defect??

-well the magnetic-part can have an electronic to check whether the adapter really is attached to the device and only then give 20v power-

But, be careful; this might result in short circuit and burn the mother board of the laptop. My laptop is now dead, in this way..!
