Is this article for M2 or for the M3? Most of the text makes it sound like it's for the M3 but then there's this little bit near the beginning: "Here you'll find the chip identification summary for the 14" M2 Pro MacBook Pro." I'm guessing it's M3, especially due to this line "Apple APL1203/339S01320 M3 Pro 12-core applications processor w/ 18 GB memory". Thanks much for the interesting, helpful content in any case!

are the Texas Instruments SN25A12 USB type-C controller chips replaceable? Im trying to repair a A2992 mac pro, with a blown SN25A12 USB type-C controller.
I see the chips available from China, are these serialized or protected by firmware?
