Lenovo IdeaPad 110-15ISK Hard Drive Replacement

Ce dont vous avez besoin

  1. Lenovo IdeaPad 110-15ISK Hard Drive Replacement, Keyboard: étape 1, image 1 de 1
    • Flip the IdeaPad bottom side up.

    • Using a Phillips #1 screwdriver, remove the two 6.0mm screws on the back panel, that hold the keyboard.

    • Flip the computer back to top facing.

  2. Lenovo IdeaPad 110-15ISK Hard Drive Replacement: étape 2, image 1 de 1
    • Open the lid.

    • Use the plastic opening tool to pry the keyboard up and away from the bottom assembly.

There’s a screw which is fixed behind the laptop which is fixed to keyboard.

So first remove all screws on the back panel in step 5.

There are actually 2 screws on the bottom of the laptop that secure the keyboard. Removing all screws from the bottom of the laptop is still the best thing to do before beginning.

    • Next disconnect the keyboard cable by using the tip of the spudger or your finger to lightly push out the ribbon from the contact port.

    • Completely remove the keyboard from the bottom assembly.

Die zwei Schrauben auf der Unterseite müssen vorher gelöst werden. Wer dieser Anleitung folgt, bekommt die Tastatur zwar mit Gewalt raus, hat aber dann sie von der verschraubten Halterung abgerissen.

    Danke! Ich hab’s angepasst!

Do not pull on the cable. This is a ZIF connector. You will have to unlock the connector before pulling or prying on the cable. Click on the link for instructions on unlocking ZIF connectors .

    • Unlock the ZIF conector before pulling the cable out

  4. Lenovo IdeaPad 110-15ISK Hard Drive Replacement, Optical Drive: étape 5, image 1 de 1
    • Using a Phillips #1 screwdriver, unscrew the one 5.0mm screw on the back panel.

This doesn’t disconnect the optical drive, as that’s located on the other side of the laptop. It disconnects the fan assembly.

    Michael Wiseman - Réponse

yes the correct screw to remove for freeing up the optical drive is on the underside of the laptop, not the one shown which is on the wrong side and is under the keyboard?

  5. Lenovo IdeaPad 110-15ISK Hard Drive Replacement: étape 6, image 1 de 1
    • Flip the laptop to its back and the optical drive is located at the top left corner.

    • Remove the optical CD DVD drive by lightly pulling it out of the assembly.

When you remove the optical drive, you will find two small screws you need to remove as well, in the lip of the optical drive bay

    Arnold Chavers - Réponse

Before removing the optical drive you will need to remove one of the screws on the bottom of the laptop. Assuming you’ve gotten this far, you probably already did that in order to remove the keyboard. If not, then you should just remove all screws from the bottom of the laptop.

    Michael Wiseman - Réponse

The optical drive screw is actually the 1 screw remaining in the center of the back after removing the keyboard.

  6. Lenovo IdeaPad 110-15ISK Hard Drive Replacement, Upper Case: étape 7, image 1 de 1
    • Place the laptop bottom facing up.

    • Using a Phillips #1 screwdriver, remove the remaining eight 6.0mm screws on the back panel.

    • Flip the computer back to top facing.

There are actually 11 of these screws (there are 3 on the right side of the picture, not just 2). Also, there are 2 smaller, flatter screws underneath the optical drive on the left that will need to be removed as well.

  7. Lenovo IdeaPad 110-15ISK Hard Drive Replacement: étape 8, image 1 de 1
    • Separate the top case from the bottom using a plastic opening tool.

    • Continue prying the top and bottom case from each other all around the perimeter of the laptop.

  8. Lenovo IdeaPad 110-15ISK Hard Drive Replacement, Battery: étape 9, image 1 de 1
    • Turn the laptop upside down and gently pry the top case free from the bottom case.

Don’t forget to actually remove the Battery cable…

    Chad DePugh - Réponse

I have difficulty in separating the connection cable from the battery to the motherboard, in the connector of this. Please, I would need some advice to do it without having any problems. Thanks a lot.

    • The battery is attached to the bottom case of the laptop.

    • Remove the two 4.0mm screws.

    • Push the battery component away from you in order to completely remove the battery from the fixture.

But what about the covered wire connecting the battery to the board?

    • Using a Phillips #1 screwdriver, remove the four 4.0mm corner screws securing the hard drive assembly to the body.

    • Disconnect the hard drive from the back panel by sliding it to the left until loosened.

    • Remove it completely by lifting the hard drive out of the back panel.

  11. Lenovo IdeaPad 110-15ISK Hard Drive Replacement: étape 12, image 1 de 2 Lenovo IdeaPad 110-15ISK Hard Drive Replacement: étape 12, image 2 de 2
    • Using the Phillips #1 screwdriver, remove the four 3.0mm corner screws from the caddy of the hard drive.

    • Separate the plastic caddy from the hard drive.

These instructions are in the wrong order. You have to remove the top two screws that make up the L shape on the back before removing the keyboard because they hold down the keyboard. If you remove the keyboard before removing the 2 screws you will damage the mounting for the keyboard.

I found that two of the screws on the bottom hold down the keyboard, so they need to be unscrewed before the keyboard will come up. Also, there are two “shallow” screws (that become visible after the DVD drive is removed) which need to be removed, and the battery doesn’t really need to be removed to replace the hard drive.

I’ve posted these comments on their associated steps, but it doesn’t hurt to repeat them here: There are 3 screws on the bottom of the laptop holding certain parts in place (keyboard & optical drive). These will need to be removed before doing anything else in this guide, so it’s best to just remove all 11 screws (yes, there are 11, not 10 as stated) from the bottom of the laptop. After removing the optical drive, there will be 2 more screws to remove. The screw underneath the keyboard holds the fan assembly in place, not the optical drive, as they are on opposite sides of the laptop.

Cannot remove optical hard drive following instructions. Does not appear to be removable on my Lenovo Ideapad 110.
