Where do you find a motherboard and how much do they typically cost?

Jeff - Réponse

This is useless because you can't just buy a motherboard. May as well buy a new remote for $20

You can buy a first party Wii remote plus for under $50 at Walmart, best buy, or online on Amazon or on Nintendos website

Just adding a comment to dispute the above suggestion that “this is useless”. I used this guide to help repair a damaged Wii Controller which had had some battery leakage onto the mainboard. I was able to open the controller, clean up (using vinegar and water) the battery corrosion and re-assemble the controller. It works fine again now and I used this guide to find out that there are plastic clips holding the case together.
