Introduction

This guide shows how to disassemble the Acer Aspire 5100 to remove the display screen.

  1. Make sure the laptop is turned off and unplugged.

  5. Now remove the top cover by unscrewing the two Phillips #0 screws found at the bottom of the panel.

    • You are removing the cover behind the LCD, not the LCD screen. The two screws are the only thing holding it so carefully support it so it does not pull on and damage any cables.

  6. Unplug the display data cable attached to the back of the LCD.

  7. Finally, remove the LCD screen by unscrewing the six screws connecting the LCD panel to the side frame.
