Introduction

Replace the cracked or damaged screen of TI-Nspire Calculator to enable the display for more efficient use of the device.

  1. Place the calculator screen facing down with the back plate facing up.

  2. With a #000 Philips screwdriver, remove the 6 x .286 inch screw drivers located at the top, middle, and bottom of the calculator.

    • Locate the latch toward the bottom of the calculator.

    • Slide the latch to the right to release the keypad.

    • At the same time, pull the keypad down.

    • Locate and remove the screw near the bottom of the calculator on the front side.

      • The screw is behind where the keyboard normally sits.

    • Now, turn the calculator over so the back plate faces up.

    • Use the Plastic Prying Tool to carefully pry the back plate out at the bottom right corner.

      • The prying order is arbitrary. The important part is for it to be sequential across the length of the calculator.

    • Repeat the prying step on the right side, moving along the perimeter of the calculator.

    • Repeat the prying step on the top right corner.

    • Use your hands to manually separate the now loosened back plate from the calculator.

    • Remove the four batteries to help prevent electrical shorts in later steps.

    • Remove the four 0.165 inch screws at the middle and bottom of the motherboard with the screwdriver.

    • Use a Phillips #000 screwdriver to remove the two 0.349 inch screws at the top corners of the motherboard.

    • Holding the calculator with the motherboard face-up, gently press the screen up about 3/8 inch and towards the motherboard.

    • Remove the motherboard and screen together and set aside.

    • Use a flathead screwdriver to gently pry the orange ribbon away from the screen.

    What is the purpose of step 11 since you have already taken the screen off the calculator?

Great guide! Just wondering where you found the replacement LCD? I've searched and searched the guide and the Internet and can't seem to locate them. Any help is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

replacing is not easy. there are no quick connectors. used nspires r cheap.
