Introduction

If the keyboard of your Toshiba Satellite C655-S5142 isn't responding to attempts to type, this guide will help you to properly replace the previous components. If your keyboard is faulty, then it's likely that one key or multiple keys are no longer functioning as intended. Before you start the replacement, check to see if cleaning out the sensors by using a flathead screwdriver to gently pry up the keys, then dusting the keys using a dust blower or safe brush, before deciding to replace the keyboard itself. Using the metal spudger, gently insert it under the plastic covering slowly easing it up until the screws are revealed.
The plastic covering will make clicking sounds when being removed this is normal, you are not breaking it.
