| + | [* black] Use one crescent wrench to hold the lock nut steady and a second wrench to turn the upper rod fitting counter-clockwise until it completely unthreads. |
| + | [* black] Carefuly move the top pipe and rod away from the pump and lie it down somewhere clean. |
| + | [* black] Remove the T-handle from the rod section that was just removed and install it on the plunger rod still in the pump. |
