Gateway SA1 Cooling Fan Replacement

This guide will help in determining if the cooling fan is broken and how to fix or replace it.

Étape 1 Cooling Fan  ¶ 

Unscrew the indicated Philips screw. Screw cannot be completely removed from cover.

  • Unscrew the indicated Philips screw.

  • Screw cannot be completely removed from cover.

Étape 2  ¶ 

Use the spudger to pry open the cover.

  • There will be three tabs on each side except for the side with the screw.

Étape 3  ¶ 

Unscrew the six indicated Philips screws. These screws cannot be completely removed from the cooling fan component.

Étape 4  ¶ 

Unplug the shown cable attaching the cooling fan to the computer.

Étape 5  ¶ 

You are now able to remove the cooling fan.
