MacBook Core Duo iSight Camera Replacement

MacBook Core Duo iSight webcam replacement.

Replace a broken iSight camera on your MacBook Core Duo so you can get back to making silly faces in Photobooth.

Sections

Étape 1 iSight Camera  ¶ 

Remove the two pieces of yellow tape covering the camera cable near the top edge of the LCD assembly.

  • Remove the two pieces of yellow tape covering the camera cable near the top edge of the LCD assembly.

Disconnect the camera cable from the iSight board.

  • Disconnect the camera cable from the iSight board.

Remove the two 4.1 mm shouldered Phillips screws securing the iSight board to its bracket.

  • Remove the two 4.1 mm shouldered Phillips screws securing the iSight board to its bracket.

Use the flat end of a spudger to carefully pry the camera out of its recess.

  • Use the flat end of a spudger to carefully pry the camera out of its recess.

  • Remove the iSight from the LCD assembly.

Only use the following steps if your black plastic front iSight bezel is damaged. If is it still usable, simply transfer the iSight electronics to your existing iSight bezel.

  • Use the tip of a spudger to gently push the microphone out of the front iSight bezel.

  • Only push around the outer edge of the microphone.

Remove the two 2.2 mm Phillips screws securing the iSight bezel to its bracket.

  • Remove the iSight bezel.
