HP TouchPad Headphone Jack Replacement

Replace a broken headphone jack on your HP TouchPad.

Use this guide to replace a broken headphone jack.

Étape 1 Headphone Jack  ¶ 

Use the edge of a plastic opening tool to flip up the retaining flap on the headphone jack ribbon cable ZIF socket. Be sure you are prying up on the hinged retaining flap, not the socket itself.

  • Use the edge of a plastic opening tool to flip up the retaining flap on the headphone jack ribbon cable ZIF socket.

  • Be sure you are prying up on the hinged retaining flap, not the socket itself.

  • Pull the headphone jack ribbon cable out of its socket.

Étape 2  ¶ 

Remove the two 4.4 mm Phillips screws securing the heaphone jack to the rear case.

Étape 3  ¶ 

Use a plastic opening tool to pry the headphone jack away from the adhesive securing it to the rear case. Remove the headphone jack.
