Using the Customer Migration Tool

  • Disconnect the battery for the machine whose data needs extraction.

  • Remove the two T3 screws holding in the LifeBoat Connector. Note the slightly different locations of the port on the 13" versus the 15" models.

  • The tool itself consists of a box with three points of connection. One for power, one to tap into the faulty logic board, and one to connect the faulty board to a known good Mac for data transfer.

  • Connect the cable to the open port on the Mac in need of data extraction and then Thunderbolt cable to the destination or conduit Mac before connecting the power cable to the Migration Tool.

  • If the storage is functional on the Mac, it will appear on the good Mac as an external drive.

Utilisation de l'outil de migration des données utilisateur

Déconnectez la batterie de la machine dont vous voulez extraire les données.

Dévissez les deux vis T3 qui maintiennent le connecteur LifeBoat. Notez que le port se trouve à un emplacement légèrement différent entre les modèles 13" et les 15".

L'outil à proprement dit consiste en une boite avec trois points de connexion. Un pour l'alimentation, un pour accéder à la carte défectueuse et un dernier pour relier la carte défectueuse à un Mac en état de marche pour le transfert des données.

Connectez le câble sur le port ouvert du Mac dont on doit extraire les données et le câble Thunderbolt au Mac de destination avant de connecter le câble d'alimentation à l'outil de migration.

Si le stockage est fonctionnel sur le Mac, il apparaîtra sur le bon Mac en tant que disque externe.
