If cleaning the contacts several times in the previous step did not work, remove the 13 screws to split the lid in two as shown in the image and replace the lid (the right way up with mains turn off!)

With a multimeter, measure the resistance between the two terminals marked with green arrows. It should be about 60ohms.

If the resistance is much higher or open circuit, then either the contacts need more cleaning, or the thermal fuse/ heating element has failed (not covered by this simple guide)

Note: if the thermal fuse or element has failed, the soup maker will not work at all even in the blender mode which does not require the heater.
