Hammer the button

  • Flip the jeans over and place a soft flat work surface directly beneath the button, like a soft piece of wood or leather.

  • A hard surface can damage the button.

  • Use a pair of needle nose pliers to hold the tack in place, making sure the tack and button pieces are still aligned.

  • Hammer the tack with a straight downward pound.

  • Use a small hammer or mallet (about one pound or 450 g) to avoid bending or breaking the button.

  • To further protect a button with a logo, place a soft cloth or towel underneath before hammering.

Retournez le jean sur une surface plate et lisse, comme une planche en bois ou un morceau de cuir.

Une surface trop dure peut endommager le bouton.

Utilisez une pince à bec long pour maintenir le clou en place, en faisant attention à ce que le clou et le bouton soient bien alignés.

Tapez le clou d'un coup franc avec le marteau.

Utilisez un petit marteau ou un maillet (d'env. 450 g) pour éviter de plier ou de casser le bouton.

Pour protéger davantage un bouton avec un motif, placez entre ce dernier et la planche un chiffon ou une serviette.
