Avoided the cheap batteries after several warnings and got the toolkit as recommended.
I flattened the old battery and followed the instructions.
Kept the two battery clip screws separate and the tiny black clip in a safe place.
Lots of gentle prying to get the battery out ~ patience not brute force needed here ~ don't lever against fragile bits!!
Battery out, new battery clip attached and battery in place, bottom screw fitted loosely then little black clip sipped under the battery clip and screw put in and both tightened.
Pressed new battery down to try to attach to glue left behind.
Case on and screws in. Plug into Mac and see the Apple appear and then the whole thing came back to life. It went on and off twice and then settled down,
Did a reset with the two buttons and now I'm cleaning out the Apps I don't use any more and changing some of the settings to make certain Apps are using up my new battery.
