Hello, my name is Onel Rassam, I am an IT student at GateWay Community College in the YearUp program. I chose IT because I feel like it would give me a good fundamental understanding of technology and computers to be able to then choose a more defined major/expertise. At the moment I want to go into cybersecurity. I want to be able to work with something very futuristic. One of my favorite movies is Ready Player One, and the reason I like it so much is because of the advanced technology that is accessible to everyone in that world. I want to work on something similar, although I know it be like that anytime in the near future, that is what motivates me and fuels my passion. I also love music and wish to one day be a part of an Middle East music orchestra and be doing shows around the world.

I do not have much experience when it comes to computer or IT repair but I am familiar with tower PCs and their components to a simple extent.

Experience:

I would love to learn how to fix the components of computer including CPUs and GPUs in laptops and towers. Being able to change components of a laptop like in this website would be a great skill to have as well.

This project specifically is a great opportunity to get hands on experience that is very valuable. I believe it is important for everyone in the tech industry to understand and work with hardware and understand how it works with software, so this project will be very good for me.

In my free time, I like to play with the Middle East Ensemble "Layali Al-Sham" at ASU. I also play volleyball and love to spend time with my family.
