Easy replacement! The hardest part is getting the new OS (or backup from your old drive if it still works) on your new drive. You’ll need to format your disk first and it’s very easy. Once you get the new drive installed, start you Mac. Immediately hold down the Command and R keys until you get a globe symbol, then release. It will take a few minutes for you Mac to boot up. Select the Disk Utility page. Select your drive on the left side of the utility page. Up top, select the Erase Tab. Down below you should see two pull down menus. The top one should say “Format Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Below that you can name your hard drive. Mac HD, Dave’s HD what ever. Then select Erase on the bottom of the screen. The format takes only a few seconds. You’ll notice the newly named drive under the drive description you first selected. Reboot your Mac, hold down the Command and R keys again. Select time machine or load a new OS. You will now see your newly formatted named drive. Good luck
