On my 2000 Integra GS 2-door model, this was much easier than described here. I didn't have to take off the door panel at all. I just popped the speaker grille off with a flat-head screwdriver, and the speaker was accessible from there.
To remove the speaker grille, pry from the bottom side with a flat instrument and the bottom edge will pop out. The top edge has tabs that have to slide down for grille removal.
My front speakers (6.5" size) had 3 screws mounting them in. All 3 screws were accessible after removing the speaker grille. To remove the speaker, take those screws out, then tilt it forward so that the top edge leans out first. Then you can lift it up and out far enough to reach the wire plug and press the plug release clips with your thumb and forefinger to unplug it.
Not much else to the job of speaker removal, for the front ones. The back ones are more difficult though - you must remove the rear side panel to get those out. But it's definitely worth it to replace those dull-sounding factory speakers with some aftermarket ones!
