On most toughbooks please follow these instructions in order: Step 1: Please Un-Plug AC Adapter (External Power Supply). Step 2: Please Remove Internal Toughbook Battery Pack (In some cases, you must release the latch located on the underside of the Toughbook). Step 3: Do not put back the internal battery but plug back in the AC Adapter. Step 4: Turn on the power (ie. start-up the Toughbook with the power button). (In most cases the Toughbook will turn back on without the internal battery pack). Step 5: Once the Toughbook is powered back on, do a complete shutdown of Windows. Step 6: Put back the internal battery pack. That is it. Your Toughbook should now work as normal. All Toughbooks pre-2010 required a "recovery" dvd in order to reset the unit to Factory Defaults. In Canada these recovery dvd used to be free, but after 2010 they started to charge for them. If you still have a Windows sticker or COA on the underside of your Toughbook then you can use a Windows CD or DVD that corresponds to the sticker and then enter the 25 digit code. If you do it this way, you will be required to download all the drivers manually from the panasonic website. This is the Toughbook and Toughpad website for drivers: http://pc-dl.panasonic.co.jp/itn/default.html Good Luck and Happy New Year 2018. If the Toughbook does not recognize your Optical Drive (CDROM) or if there is no Hard Disk Drive then you will get this error message. You may set the boot order in the BIOS by pressing the "F2" Function key and setting CDROM as the first boot device. If you only have a 3.5" floppy disk drive then try to boot from diskette.
