The BlackBerry 7520 is an older model BlackBerry that is durable and rugged enough for any environment.
Note: This troubleshooting guide covers issues specific to the BlackBerry 7520. However, similar phones such as the BlackBerry 7500 may also be fixed by the same actions.
Blackberry keyboard is sticking
Your phone keypad has buttons that are getting stuck in either the down or up position.
Keypad is dirty
You may need to clean or replace the keypad. Follow the keypad removal and replacement guide for further support.
BlackBerry making erratic sounds
Your phone is making a constant loud beeping noise, scratching sounds, static, or other erratic noises.
Message sending error
This type of issue arises when you press the PTT (Push-To-Talk) button when someone else is talking. In order to fix this error, you must perform a hard reset of your phone by removing and reinserting the battery. Do this by following the battery removal and replacement guide.
Speaker is damaged or broken
The speaker in the rear of the phone may be broken. See the speaker replacement guide for further help.
BlackBerry rings when powered off
Your phone receives calls even when turned off.
Full power off
The BlackBerry 7520 has two states that it can enter when shutting off. Either the Power Off state or Full Power Off state. In Power Off the phone is in a standby mode and will still receive calls. In Full Power Off the phone will be completely shut off. When turning the phone off, make sure to select the Full Power Off state.
BlackBerry is not on
BlackBerry 7520 is not powered.
Phone is not on
Make sure that the BlackBerry 7520 is powered up by pressing the power button.
Dead battery
Plug the BlackBerry 7520 into the charger supplied with the phone to charge the battery and allow the phone to power up.
Battery will not charge
BlackBerry 7520 battery will not charge properly.
Charger isn't plugged in properly
Check to see if the charger connections are loose. If they are, reconnect them so that they are connected firmly with the phone.
Computer isn't on
If you are using a USB charger, you need to turn the computer on in order to charge the battery of the BlackBerry.
Don't have necessary software
In order to charge your BlackBerry phone from your computer, you will need to install the BlackBerry Desktop Software that came with the phone.
LCD screen is not displaying
Your phone screen doesn't display anything.
Phone isn't charged
It is possible that your phone may have turned itself off to conserve battery life. Take out your battery to charge it. Replace the battery and turn your phone on.
Light/dark values are set too high/low
Your phone could have been improperly adjusted so that the screen is either too light or too dark to read. In this case, perform a hard reset of the phone (take out battery and replace) so that the screen is reset to the normal values.
Screen is broken
