Operating in Warm Environment
If the device is being used in an environment that is very hot and humid, it is possible that the device is unable to cool itself. If you are operating the device in a warm environment and it is overheating or getting very warm, try to move into a cooler place, or consider turning it off for a short period to cool down, and use it in short periods.
The Vents and Fans Are Covered With Dust
Depending on the environment where the laptop is used, as well as how long the user has had the device, dust can build up. If the device does not get proper air intake or outtake, the device will overheat.
Look at the vents on the computer and use either compressed air on the vents or a vacuum to clean off any dust that may be lingering. While the device does not have to be opened, it can be a good idea to clean the fans of the device, by spraying compressed air around the surface of the fan.
Fans Are Covered With Dust
Computers, especially the ultra-slim IdeaPad Flex 15, overheat because of dust stuck in vents or fans. This dust traps hot air in the body of the computer and the air can't leave. To fix this, locate the vent and spray a can of compressed air into the computer. Computers can overheat due to excessive dust and other materials stuck in the vents or fan. To fix this, use a compressed air duster to carefully blow the dust off the vents and fan.

Note that it must be specific to the device and should come from the manufacturer itself.
Faulty Battery
If the power supply adapter is plugged into the computer, and the light on the power supply is on, first verify that the adapter is plugged in securely. If the laptop powers on with the power supply adapter plugged in, but immediately powers off after removal of the adapter both after short and long charges, the battery needs to be replaced.
Malfunctioning Power Socket
Verify that the power adapter is plugged in firmly and securely. If it was, check the charging light on the computer itself to see if it is charging. If the power supply light is on but the computer is not charging, then that can mean that the power socket on the computer is broken, and should be replaced.
