If your Marshall Speaker will not connect to the google application “Alexa” using Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connection, follow this troubleshooting guide.
Alexa App Setup is Not Working
- The Marshall speaker must be set up to the Alexa function through the Alexa app, not a third party app. Make sure you are using the correct app, “Marshall Voice.” A common mistake is downloading the “Marshall Bluetooth” app.
- If you are a college student that lives on campus or are attempting to connect Alexa in a location that does not have a consistent internet connection (i.e. a coffee shop that you frequent, a guest wifi, etc.), this device requires a stable wifi connection to connect to Alexa, and that is not available on some campus wifis or guest wifis (impersonal wifis). It is best to keep the Marshall Uxbridge in one place while using the Alexa feature.
Alexa Speaker Not Responding With Alexa
- If the Alexa speaker is not responding, there may be a software problem. This can be fixed with conducting a factory reset.
- Unplug from the wall socket for 15 seconds; plug it back in; push and hold both the upper part of the volume button (+) and the lower part of the treble button (-) for 7 seconds.
- Alexa should always respond, even if she has not been set up and only the Bluetooth function is being used. If Alexa is not responding to any voice commands, set up or not, the microphone may be muted. You can unmute the microphone by pressing and holding the microphone button for two seconds.
- There will be an LED on the face of the device to show whether the microphone is muted or unmuted.
