D-Link DCS-825L Troubleshooting
This guide will help you diagnose common problems with the Wi-Fi Baby Camera DCS-825L.
The Phone/Device Will Not Connect to Camera
Your phone/device is not identifying or connecting to the Wi-Fi Baby Camera’s Wi-Fi network.
Not Connected to Specific Wi-Fi Network
Make sure that your phone/device is connected to the Wi-Fi Network that is specific to your Wi-Fi Baby Camera (called “myBabyCam-xxxx”). The “xxxx” part of the Wi-Fi will be specific to every individual Wi-Fi Baby Camera and is located on the label on the back of the Wi-Fi Baby Camera as well as on the back of the quick installation guide.
You have the Wi-Fi turned off on your phone
Go to your phone/device’s settings, select Wi-Fi and check to see if your Wi-Fi is on. If not, switch the Wi-Fi on.
The Baby Camera is not turned on.
First, check that the Wi-Fi Baby Camera is plugged into an electrical outlet. If it is, press the power button located on the front, upper right side of the Wi-Fi Baby Camera.
The Night Vision Mode Appears Cloudy
You are seeing a white haze obscuring the video while the Wi-Fi Baby Camera is in Night Vision Mode.
Lights Are Reflecting
You may have to re-situate the position of the camera if the lights are reflecting. Re-situate it and then aim the camera the correct way.
Object Obstructing Lenses
There may be an object in front of the camera that hinders a clear picture. Make sure to move anything that could obstruct the view out of the way.
Audio Output is Distorted
You are having trouble hearing the sounds coming from your Wi-Fi Baby Camera.
Something is Obstructing the Baby Camera’s speaker
Check that there is nothing covering the speakers located on the top and back of the device. If there is, then remove it to see if the audio becomes clearer.
Your Baby Camera needs to be reset
While your Baby Camera is on, hold the button labeled “RST” which is located on the front, bottom, right-hand side of your Baby Camera for 10 seconds.
Device Won’t Connect to Mobile App
You’re having difficulties connecting your Wi-Fi Baby Camera to the app on your mobile device.
Reconnect Button was Not Selected
Enter the app, and check to see if the “Reconnect” button has been selected. If not, select it now.
App Needs to be Uninstalled
You may have to uninstall the app to have it work again correctly. Select the app, uninstall it, and reinstall.
The Camera is Out of Focus
You’re having difficulties seeing the video clearly.
Focus Ring Needs to Be Re-calibrated
On the front of the Wi-Fi Baby Camera, there is a white focus ring surrounding the lens. Adjust that ring by carefully turning it to better focus the image.
Smudges May be on the Camera
Check if there are any smudges on the lens. If there are, clean it with the necessary supplies.
