The Sega Dreamcast was superior to its rivals in that it was the first 128-bit console commercially produced, having visual graphics that surpassed every game console of its time. However, its production was halted in 2001.

	There were four Dreamcast variants produced: HKT-3000, HKT-3010, HKT-3020, HKT-3030. The HKT-3010 was sold in Japan; the HKT-3020, the United States; and the HKT-3030, the European nations. There is also a special model that sports the color black.

La Sega Dreamcast a été lancée le 27 novembre 1998 au Japon. Puis le 9 septembre 1999 en Amérique du Nord, et finalement le 30 novembre 1999 en Europe. La Sega Dreamcast était à sa sortie une machine très en avance sur ses rivales, car c'était la première console 128 bits commercialement produite, avec des graphismes 3D visuels impressionnants qui dépassaient les consoles concurrentes de sa génération. Cependant, sa production a été arrêtée en 2004 au Japon.

Ont été produites quatre variantes de la Dreamcast : HKT-3000, HKT-3010, HKT-3020, HKT-3030. La HKT-3010 a été vendue au Japon; la HKT-3020, aux États-Unis; et la HKT-3030, dans les pays européens. Il y a aussi un modèle spécial qui arbore la couleur noire.
