Introduction

The heat sink transfers excess thermal energy away from the CPU to the fan and cooling system in order to protect the CPU's delicate components.

Remove all twelve 6 mm long screws on the back of the laptop with a Phillips #1 screwdriver. Apply a lot of pressure to prevent the screws from stripping.

    • Make sure to turn off the computer first!

Remove the heat sink. Take note of the gray thermal paste on the back of the heat sink.

Hope someone see this cmt. I cannot lift up the heat sink for some reason. All 6 screws are removed. Any advice?
