Analog RCA Audio not Working

I have the Apple TV 1st Gen and am trying to use the RCA analog audio output, but no sound is coming out. I have tried connecting the RCA cable directly to the TV, into my receiver, and even tried routing it through my computer's audio, but it still has not worked.

I have googled extensively about this problem and haven't found anything extremely helpful.

In case anyone is wondering, I don't have the option of using the hdmi audio, or the optical audio. I have, however had the opportunity to test if the hdmi audio works, and it does.

Options

Adjust the audio out and dloby digital settings (settings > audio & video)

You might also try restarting the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds, or resetting it using the reset option under general.

I tried all these, still no audio. And just to clarify, there is not audio out adjustment option in the audio&video menu, only the dolby digital on/off.
