After 6 years my optical drive needs to be replaced. I'm a novice at repair and i'm just looking for advice from experienced repairers out there who know what I need to watch out for. Thanks.

Hi, Here is a link to the guide for replacing your optical drive. Also please note under the photo of the computer the link for 41 Step by Step guides in case you need further advice. The main thing is to study the guide until you understand what you need to do, and go slowly. Use extra care with connectors as some can break easily. At this point only you know if you can do this but rest assured many thousands already have. Good luck.
