beeps 5 times when switch on
When i turn on my laptop dell inspiron n4110.. it will come out 5 times beep.. whats the problem actually??

john, here are the POST diagnostic beeps for your computer :
One= Possible system board failure —BIOS ROM checksum failure
Two= No RAM detected NOTE: If you installed or replaced the memory module, ensure that the memory module is seated properly.
Three= Possible system board failure — Chipset error
Four= RAM read/write failure
Five= Real Time Clock failure
Six= Video card or chip failure
Seven= Processor failure
Eight= Display failure
So, there could be a problem either with the CMOS battery or the motherboard. Hope this helps, good luck.

Awesome. I had just replaced the cmos (horrible procedure on a Latitude 3450) bat and got only the 5 beeps on boot. After removing a usb keyboard dongle, the system started and allowed me to set the time. On next boot there was no boot device found, after setting it back to uefi fixed that as well.

Try updating the BIOS and ensure sure no other external USB device is connected and you have a minimum of 50 % battery and AC adapter should be connected.

Hi guys..
My laptop led shows white ...and takes a lot of time ,,for charging...but of no success..
tried all necessary steps.. plugging on by battery / direct charge / removing all external media..
still shows white light led on battery ..

Where’s the perfect place to send my laptop. I have the Dell Inspirion 15 3000 series and it began beeping 4 times when starting up but now it beeps 5 times.
