Most common problem is it's asleep and you need to hold the power button longer. or the battery isn't charging. I would check here for tips on nexus 10 not turning on or charging

Regarding Nexus 10 and the Android 5 "upgrade", there's a long thread at

https://productforums.google.com/forum/#...,

where the conclusion seems to be that Android-5 somehow breaks charging, and that downgrading to 4.4.4 or earlier helps.

On my device, I had barely enough power to boot to fastboot mode and install a 4.4.4 factory image. But..., new software can't have any effect until it's booted, and it still refuses to boot.

I'm now considering following the instructions here to open it up, try resetting the battery, and if that fails, try to power it in some way bypassing the battery logic to get it to boot 4.4.4, which I hope would reset charging and battery logic to a working state.

I know why the Nexus 10 won’t turn on. It’s the same problem on the Nexus 7. The Kingston MMIC breaks after a few years. You basically have to open the tablet, buy a new MMIC chip from a different manufacturer, resolder it onto the board, and then reflash a compatible Android build onto it. I’m an electrical engineer and still don’t have the energy to do all that. A new tablet is like $100.

If you are feeling brave you can take it apart and try to fix it yourself - I believe the link above has a walkthrough on how to take the tablet apart but you might have to figure the rest out from there.

Otherwise your best bet is to send it in for repair, or if you want you can get a pogo charger. It uses the gold connectors on the bottom to charge, and actually charges a lot faster too. I would recomment it.

My Nexus 10 froze solid while fully charged (or close to it) and operating on AC power. I'd been charging it while using it. First it got slow, then it froze, then the screen went dark, and then nothing. Holding the power button doesn't help, nor can I get into the recovery area. The only sign of life is that when I plug it in and press the power button, I see a full-battery icon. My suspicion is that memory is completely full so it's frozen and can't recover. In the days of removable batteries, I'd have removed the battery, waited a bit, then rebooted, but that's not so easy with the Nexus 10.

Since upgrading to Android 5, the battery has been draining fast, so I thought maybe if I waited a few days, the battery would drain to zero and that would provide a reset. But it's been 2 days and I still see the full-battery icon when I plug it in and press the power button - which either could mean the battery is still full because it's that frozen, or there is a serious hardware problem and it's not working at all.

So I came here to buy suction cups and a spudger to open it up and remove the battery long enough to reset it. If it's a hardware problem, that won't help, but it seemed worth a try. And if something else obvious is wrong, like a burned out capacitor, I'll see it.

It actually was drained - the icon just didn't indicate it properly. I recharged it and was able to get it going again without opening the case.

My nexus 10 won't turn on. I charge it to no avail. When I press the power button the goggle icon comes on then it blinks, and goes off. I've tried holding the power button down for 30 second, still nothing.
