How to repair a baseband?

I dont have much knowledge about I phone repair, I use step by step how to's when I need to. But I can't find one on how to fix a baseband, or where it is. I'm pretty sure that's what's wrong, I can't find my IMEI number. Can anyone tell me where it's at and how to fix it? Are maybe a link that would show me? Thank you so much!
