So a few days ago my External hard drive fell about 90 cm on my carpet, the problem is now it doesn't work at all. the light flashes and its making a funny noise when i plug in the power cable. How can I get it to work again ?

The funny noise could be that the platters are unbalanced now. Pretty much any time a hard drive makes a funny noise, it means something is wrong. Most likely repair on the drive would cost more than replacing it.
