Backlight not working after display replaced.

I have a SK100 with no backlight, so I tried replacing the display with a replacement direct from Sennheiser and am still having no luck, any suggestions?

Did you ever find out how to get it to light back up? I have one with no light. Thanks.

The led is mounted on the main board. It is incredibly small and has to be soldering in the correct orientation for polarity (it is a diode). Look for the triangle mark on the old one for to orient the new one (bottom of triangle points towards bottom of circuit board). Sennheiser part number 522462. Buy 2, because they're so small it's easy to lose the first one!

If you haven't done micro soldering before, good luck. Don't bother unsoldering the old led; just flick it off with an exacto.

Don't bother unsoldering the old led; just flick it off with an exacto.

Add tiny amount of solder to both tabs on circuit board. Hold new led in place with fingernail whilst soldering one side of led in place. Solder other side. Power on beltpack to verify led lights up (you don't need the display board or the rf board ribbon cables connected to verify light).

I've never replaced a display on this item, but I would think that its just an led that is lighting the whole thing as I've seen it commonly in low voltage/modern displays. So look for a surface mount led that is probably on the left or right side of the display and thats probably what is out. If you take pictures of the inside I could maybe direct you more throughly. Thanks

I took apart one of my units and still can't see clearly the LED. If anyone has info on this, please share. Thanks!
