My phone stops detecting my Sim card after working for some hours

My Sony Ericsson fails to read my Sim card after working for some hrs.Inactive Sim or insert Sim appears on my screen whenever this problem occurs.I inserted my Sim card into other phones and it worked fine.The part of the phone responsible for reading my Sim card seems to be ok because it was checked by a technician.I don't suspect the problem to be hardware related cos if it were hardware related the phone would not work for some hours before going off after displaying the above message.I had to reset my phone cos I thought the problem was software related.I noticed a little improvement but the fault still exists.Please what can I do to solve this problem.I am in love with my phone

I have the same problem. It was sim free, when I bought it. Problem has just recently occurred. New battery, mint condition. Can anyone help. Please ?

May be a loose sim contact or a faulty sim.

Try cleansing the contacts of the phone and the sim with a piece of paper towel and some ethanol or similar. Just moisten the paper towel so you don't put liquid in the phone.

The cheaper paper towel is better as it is slightly rough and will remove any surface film better than the expensive stuff!

Also try putting a SINGLE layer of tape on the NON contact side of the sim to try and "tighten" it's fit into the holder as it slides under the clip for better contact if cleaning does not help.

hi,

had the same problem, but gone forever. Take out the sim and clean it. Just apply white sellotape ( only one layer) over the NON contact side of the sim. When you enter the sim, it should be tight to put it in.

It solved my problem, hope it will do the same for you.

I have the same problem on my SE c510 tried every thing changing sim cleaning as you said ., software update . replaced the whole board for sim but all with no help ... I'm in love with my phone and hoping any miracle may happen to solve this problem ... So i hope any one of you may help me plZzzz

Same problem same phone just soak the sim in amonia to completely clense the sim of smudges
