Upgrading the logic board possible?

Hi,

I spilled water on my Macbook Air (late 2010, 1.6 GHz Core2Duo, 4GB Ram) model A1370. I guess the logic board it's gone forever.

I would like to know if I can replace the logic board with the mid 2011 model as it looks totally the same and it's still a A1370 model but with a 1.6GHz Core i5 instead of the Core2Duo I had. (and can be found for cheaper!)

Any suggestion will be appreciated, Thank you.

The casing is the same on the late 2010 and the 2011 Core i5 model. You should be able to swap them out without too many problems. The heatsink is different on the two models, so you will need to replace it as well.

That being said, you may not want to replace the logic board. With this being a waterspill, the keyboard is probably shot and their could be other damage (LCD connector, solid state drive, daughter board etc). Without seeing the logic board it's hard to tell, but a fried keyboard could make you think the logic board is dead. The power button goes through the keyboard, so you could be looking at something as simple as a bad keyboard.

How can I try to turn the computer on if the keyboard is broken?

I thought it's a logic board damage because I see some small green condensation on it, even if I was able to open the mac and fully dry it withing 3 hours. The battery charges anyway.

Thanks
