Why is the trigger on the saw sticking?
When the trigger on the saw is pressed to turn it on, the button sticks and it stays on

That is a very dangerous situation. I would stop using the saw until it was repaired.
If there's no physical reason (crud or debris in the return) the switch is likely shorting out in the on position.
