How does one replace the charge port cover?

I would like to know how to replace the micro USB charge port cover. I am interested in using a wireless charging adapter. The type that fits into the micro USB port. This style of adaptor however interferes with the charge port cover. If I can remove the cover without damaging it this style of wireless charging adapter is reasonable.

I just replaced mine, the flap had broken off leaving just a little bit of the "leash" in the body of the phone. I used a small knife to pry back the little bump guard near where the piece was stuck in there, then used a thumb-tack to sort of stab it and pull it out to where I could grab it with needle-nose pliers. I then gently pull it with the pliers while I pried slightly to give it room to come out.

If yours isn't broken off already I'd say just pull it lightly while prying the corner just a little bit.

Then I pried lightly while sticking the new one in, it popped in with ease since I had the corner of the bump guard pried open a little bit.

Mine came off at work one night, and after reading that the phone would have to be disassembled(shudders!), I decided to get a magnifier and a good light, and take a closer look. On the S5 Active, the USB cover is in two pieces-the cover itself, and the "leash" that anchors the cover to the case. In my situation, whatever adhesive was used may have just worn out somehow, and after a very small dab of superglue, the cover and leash were attached-so if yours has fallen off, don't throw away the old cover!

Good Luck

You can try this:

It's for the Xperia Z but I believe it's exactly the same method.

Where can a replacement cover be ordered? I'm due for a trade in upgrade, but AT&T won't take the phone back because the charge port cover broke off a few days ago.

1) Put soft clean cloth on table or desk; put phone, turned off, facedown on cloth.

2) pry off back (battery) cover

3) using #000 philipps screwdriver, remove screw at bottom left hand side, near charging port.

4) gently pry up plastic insert which the screw came out of.

5) lift port cover (or what is left of it) straight up.

6) Install new cover if you like, and apply steps 4 thru 1 in reverse.
