Recently, my Dell Laptop Inspiron 1545, went to sleep mode, and is not switching ON again. It is as though it died. I everything from pressing the power button for a minute continuously to removing the battery, plugging it back and then pressing the Power button

The problem was due to accumulation of dust in fan area and the fan would stop, increasing the heat in system and the system was shutdown due to high heat.Just opened and cleaned it now Ola everything is fine.Thanks everybody for answering.

Last time I had someone with this problem, the charger was dead, and the battery ran dry, and that's why it wouldn't turn on.
Are you sure the charger is working?

Also, the trick you described above would go:
1 remove battery and charger (all power sources)
2 press power button for 10-20 seconds
3 supply power again (battery and/or charger)
3 try to turn on normally
