16MB SD card replacement but the camera say error

Why do the error warning keep comeing on, is the 16MB to much or do I have to format it ?

Options

camera can only support cards up to 2 GB. 16GB is not gonna work.

there maybe a firmware update, but i have not come across it yet.

will comeback and update this answer when i do.
