The device quit a week or so after I replaced the batteries. It then just quit working and gave me the message about changing batteries. When I put in another set of batteries it connected and then stopped working then gave me the message about batteries needing to be changed. Any idea if this is fixable or do I just need to go buy a new one?

I'd test the new batteries in a flashlight or recharging station before inserting. I got a whole 20 pack of off brand rechargeable batteries in from China and 60% were either bad or wouldn't hold a charge. Also see if the pad is still under warranty.
