How about telling us what is wrong with it? If it's not opening I'd check the fuse box. The cover of he box probably has marking to tell you which one it is,
I had a 1983 300D but don't remember if it was manually operated or not or if was a tilting one.
Here's a video on repairing it and this guy is really, really good and even has the parts for sale at very reasonable prices. He has the manuals in PDF format and printed format and video: https://mercedessource.com/node/9484

240D +300D...'82; on both...took interior fabric / "roof" off, disconnected cable... use as a "manual" tho' originally electric / cable-drivien.
Consider: inside top of a convertibles--circa when I first was in one (1950s) had struts / canvas etc. ... thus, inside of un-covered MB sunroof isn't that bad...a "moot" point when open, anyway AND it's murder getting all parts smoothly-sliding enough to work, electronically, as originally intended...'has been my experience. That said, it's so well engineered, you'll see the cross bar you push / pull forward to open / close works BEAUTIFULLY--including "clamping" rear of roof UP, i.e., WATERTIGHT in my experience. Save all parts, as did I...some day MIGHT try to lubricate / re-build but probably not. 'terrific cars, huh?
