Can you elaborate? Could you provide us with a manufacturer, model number, or year? What is the "gold springy thingy?"

Hi Mike - That gold springy thing is the adjustment spring for the unloader valve. It makes it so water flows even when the trigger isn't in use. This keeps the pump from running dry. Inside the spring is the adjusting bolt. You should be able to tighten and loosen the bolt to adjust the unloader pressure. I would assume these things were done in the factory before shipping to you but possibly you may need to loosen off the nut to stop the leak. Another possibility is an o-ring/nut has cracked where the water is leaking through. All in all this is definitely something that would be covered under warranty.
