no longer reads micro sd card

Nothings happens when I plug my micro sd card into my laptop. It has worked before, same card same laptop, I moved ALL my pictures from my laptop to the sd card and everything was fine. I was able to work with any picture, the card showed up under my computer like it's supposed to. Than one day it just didnt work. Nothings pops up on laptop when micro sd card is inserted, nothing under my computer. I tried other cards to see if it was the laptop but they worked just fine, I also bought a card reader to plug into usb (but im not sure if it is compatible with higher capacity cards?), and the light on the card reader adapter comes on but still nothing on the laptop. Please please say there is a way to get to my pictures. Please

Okay I will try but the same slot reads other sd cards? Is there a safe way to "wipe" off the metal strips on the card

Options

Clean the port where you plug in the sd card , occasionally you will get lint or dust in the slot and this will prevent contact on connectors . Us a tooth pick to sweep any lint or crude out of the slot and then blow the slot out with compressed air

isopropyl alcohol can be used to clean the metal strips on the card. can the card be read in another computer . you moved the lock on the card by accident

I don't have another computer to try it in but I could try it in my tablet. Its not locked, and I've tried it with and without the adapter card also. I'll see if my tablet wil recognize it at all

So my tablet doesn't read the sd card either. It doesn't do anything at all when I insert the card just like my laptop. I don't know what else to do. ALL my pictures of my daughter are on it. Any other ideas?

there is a program called Zar x that can retrieve photos from sd cards , you can try that http://www.z-a-recovery.com/download.asp...

I had this trubble, i found that some devices demand the sd to be unmounted through settings to prevent damage to device and or sd. I ignored this, what does it know any ways, its not human so i know best right? No i was wrong i lost every thing from music to photos to bank records, 113MBs worth. You can find recovery apps that work but you have to have them installed and opperating befor the sd goes blank, and if not its snake eyes. The house mugs you. Dry the tears, take new photo memorys, and learn from the mistake as i did. Im sory for your loss.
