Replace my Touch screen, but still get the white screen only!

I dropped my iphone 3G and all I got was the white screen.. I replaced my broken touch screen following the ifixit steps. But I still get just the white screen. Can someone tell me what im forgetting to do or what else could cause the white screen please.

Thank you

you need to replace the LCD as well - the front panel glass contains the digitizer for processing touches, but has nothing to do with the LCD itself (except for holding it in the device)

you may not need to replace the LCD as answered above. My glass was broken, and although I did NOT have a white screen and the phone responded to my "touches" at the top - but not the bottom. I just followed the ifixit steps to replace my broken glass. Once complete, I had a white screen. I held the power + home button for 5 seconds to do a hard shutdown. I turned it back on like normal and everything works.

I've fixed a few of these and it sounds most likely that you will need to replace the LCD screen. However there is no harm in checking over the connection and doing a hard reset first. If its still not working you can find get an iPhone 3G Screen Replacement and this will fix your issue.
